Missouri S&T WRITING ACROSS THE CURRICULUM

ABOUT US

The Moeller Writing Center and the Center for Writing Technologies are located in Rooms 113 and 114 of the Campus Support Facility. The goal of these writing facilities is to help you write more effectively in any course and at any stage of the writing process. Our tutors are trained, talented Missouri S&T students from several major fields of study, who can assist you as you draft any writing assignment, whether it be a lab report, or a history paper. Tutors are experienced in improving all varieties of student writing and will help you understand more clearly how to fulfill your writing assignments successfully. Your tutor will sit down and talk with you about your work, help you to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your paper, and then suggest some possible strategies for increasing the effectiveness of your work. Missouri S&T peer writing tutors can also teach you to proofread and edit your paper more successfully. Best of all, these services are free to Missouri S&T students.

At the Moeller Writing Center, we believe that learning to write is a lifelong process and that our tutors can help any writer at any stage learn how to become a more effective communicator.  Some of the best writers at Missouri S&T use the Moeller Writing Center on a regular basis, because they understand the many benefits of sharing their writing with an experienced tutor before submitting it to their professor.

The Center for Writing Technologies is equipped with state-of-the-art computers, laser printers, and a scanner. It has desktop publishing and word processing software packages you can use for any class. The Center for Writing Technologies is available for student use when classes are not scheduled, and a lab monitor keeps the facility open during the evening hours.

Please feel free to call 341-4436 to set up a tutoring appointment for a time that is convenient for you, or to ask any questions you might have.
