Missouri S&T WRITING ACROSS THE CURRICULUM

WRITING CONTESTS HOTBOARD 


The Writing Center Writing Contest

The Missouri S&T Writing Center will begin accepting submissions for their 8th annual writing contest in March, 2009. All Missouri S&T undergraduates will be invited to submit their best written work in any of seven categories:

  • short story - general topic
  • short story - sci-fi/fantasy
  • autobiographical/personal essay
  • analytical essay
  • English 20 essay
  • research paper
  • technical writing

All submissions will again be limited to no more than 3,000 words.  Students may enter as many categories as they would like, but may enter a single category only once, and may enter a single essay/story only once. 

Plan now to submit your best written work in March 2009. For additional information contact Lorraine Woolsey at lorrain@mst.edu.

Opportunities to submit your brilliant works, yet not affiliated with (or endorsed by) Missouri S&T:

L. Ron Hubbard's Writers' and Illustrators' of the Future Contest. No entry fee is required. All rights in the story remain the property of the author. All types of science fiction, fantasy and horror with fantastic elements, are welcome.

Byline Magazine Writing Contest. ByLine sponsors monthly contests designed to motivate writers by providing deadlines, competition and cash prizes. These contests are open to anyone. Nominal entry fee.
