The Writing Center hires students who are excellent writers and communicators interested in helping fellow students improve their communication skills.

Understand foundational and emerging communication center theory/perspectives.
Recognize S&T Writing and Communication Center and writing consultant responsibilities.
Develop strategies for working with diverse communication types in various situations and stages.
Provide feedback to students on communication across different genres and modalities.
Observe and engage in multiple coach-led consultations.
Independently conduct consultations.
Recognize and promote the center's services effectively.
Engage in Writing and Communication Center-focused outreach and activities.
Develop, present, and deliver classroom presentations and activities.
Respond promptly to emails and requests from the center director or peer team lead.
Attend all scheduled shifts, team meetings and appointments.

If possible, please submit a paper completed for a Missouri S&T writing-intensive course. If you haven't taken a writing-intensive course at Missouri S&T, papers written for other S&T courses are acceptable. If you have never written a paper for any S&T course, please submit a paper written for a college-level course taken elsewhere.
